James Tisdale

Made for Television

Our hero approaches the vixen
the music kicks in just after the heavy breathing.

We all know what will happen in this scene:
life is too perky with round promise.

In the scene before, you will remember
his frazzled wife, bitching, not at all understanding,

or as well endowed. Did you notice in this justifying
scene, with the wife cold, detached, and typecast

that they never showed the face of the child
always at the edge, quietly watching.

chained to his microscope, he can be found studying poetry at the University of
Washington Extension Program. When he can't be found, he is most likely in the woods.
