words just waiting

Words just waiting
for you to have your way with them.
Finger getting ready to probe
the recesses of your mind.
Now finger to mouth
to gain wetness.
Now pencil to mouth
to gain wetness
to seek the connection
from body to paper.
Then sliding down the body
of the work
just to make sure,
just to make sure
that the paper is ready to receive
the words.
And the words are just waiting
for you to have your way with them.
